The purposes of this chapter are to identify national and international agencies responsible for the safe, humane, and expeditious transportation of live research animals and biological materials (tissues and specimens) derived from animals, to summarize and review regulations governing their transportation, and to identify overlaps and gaps among regulations and agency.
